Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it may be used, and the limited situations in which it may reach another service. By using Huntingdon County Criminal History, you agree to these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered into a search tool passes directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not retain or record those query terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

We retain an email or other direct message long enough to answer and manage it. Access stays within our team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers receive basic technical information when a visitor loads a page:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • Browser name and version
  • IP address used by the device
  • Referring website, when available
  • Device category and operating system
  • Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files that help measure traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that usage information for reporting. A browser can reject or remove cookies, although disabling them may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Finding and repairing errors or performance problems
  • Routing a query to the partner that operates the selected tool
  • Maintaining reliable pages and reasonable load times
  • Measuring which material visitors use most
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Huntingdon County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its published material identifies official custodians, including local courts, police and prison offices, the Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository, and the PSP Megan's Law Public Website. Visitor information is not assembled into a third-party record or a consumer report, and this operation is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules govern information submitted to those tools. We cannot control those practices, so review the provider's policy before running a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Pennsylvania agencies, Huntingdon County offices, court portals, legal resources, or outside search providers. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's own privacy policy applies. Read those terms before providing personal information.

Advertising companies may use their systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads. We do not operate that tracking infrastructure.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:

  • Analytics vendors measuring site traffic and operation
  • Outside search providers receiving a submitted query
  • Advertising networks serving content on the pages
  • Government or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security measures protect the information under our control. No online system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it promptly.

Your Data Rights

Rights vary with residence and the law that applies. Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law governs access to public-agency records, while the Criminal History Record Information Act, including its dissemination and correction rules, governs official criminal-history information. Those laws concern government records and do not turn this private site into a records custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:

  • Object to or opt out of certain processing
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Ask for deletion where the law permits it
  • Seek access to personal information we hold

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy as services or practices change. The replacement will appear here with an updated effective date, so visitors should review this section periodically.

Effective date: August 8, 2026
